How to set a proxy in Google Chrome browser

What is a residential proxy, and when do we use it on the Chrome browser? Some websites or content may be restricted based on your geographical location. Using a proxy with a server in a different location can help you access content that might be blocked in your region.

Change Setting in Chrome

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up a proxy in Chrome:

1. Open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to open the menu. 

2. Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

3. Scroll down and click on “Advanced” to expand the advanced settings.

4. Under the “System” section, click on “Open proxy settings.”

5. This will open the “Internet Properties” window. Go to the “Connections” tab.

6. Click on the “LAN settings” button.

7. In the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window, check the box that says “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.

8. Enter the address and port of your proxy server in the respective fields. If you don’t have this information, contact your network administrator or the provider of the proxy service.

9. If the proxy server requires a username and password, check the “Use a proxy server for your LAN” box, click on the “Advanced” button, and enter the required credentials.

10. Click “OK” to save the changes and close the windows.
